City National Bank Charter #10038

The City National Bank of Greeley was chartered in June 1911, and assigned charter #10038 with a capital of $100,000. The Greeley Tribune of 6/30/11 reported "The City National Bank opened its doors for business on Monday in the Camfield Trust building and the subsequent open house that evening. The bank was placed in voluntary liquidation on March 22, 1915. The bank was located on 8th Avenue and 7th Street.

No notes from the City National Bank of Greeley are known to exist. The bank issued only $5, $10 and $20 third charter date back, blue seal notes. Total amount of reported outstanding notes in 1915 was $25,000. The Union National Bank assumed responsibility for redeeming the outstanding currency.

In 1915 the City Bank merged with the Union National. The new bank retained the name of he Union National Bank.
